Books by Alex Watson &
Dr. Robert Watson

I was 11 years old when I woke my father, Robert, early one morning and told him that I was going to write a book. I am grateful that he believed in me and in 2012, Tsunami, our first co-author venture project, was published.

Writing a book is a lot of work. It also requires patience, discipline, research and, yes, a few rewrites! But it is fun and very rewarding. If you are a young reader, know that you too can write a book. In 2013 we started a writing contest for kids called Let’s Write Together. Lower, middle, and upper school students were invited to submit short stories to the contest. The winners had their writings published in a book.

Time Zone Series

Chase is a typical teenager making his way through high school: spending time with friends, averting disastrous encounters with bullies, and trying to devote quality time to family. But Chase comes from a family that is anything but typical, and he soon finds out that his life will be anything but conventional. One day an ordinary visit to his prominent scientist grandfather turns extraordinary, as both grandfather and grandson get sucked into a time portal that jets them back to pivotal events in U.S. history. His encounters with bullies are nothing compared to what will come next, where Chase will have to fight for his life while carving out a space for himself in history alongside some of the most celebrated historical figures.

Co-authored by a young man and his father, a Lynn University U.S. history professor who has himself authored several books covering this time period, this novel is a great tool to satisfy the mind of any child interested in historical fiction.

The Crossing

It finally happened! After years of top secret research, the time machine was ready to be tested. But a mistake sends Chase Maxwell and his scientist grandfather back in time on a wild ride that threatens to unravel the course of history and prevent them from ever returning to the present day.

In Book I of the Time Zone series, we travel back in time to The Crossing of The Delaware, the event characterized as the tipping point of the American Revolutionary War. We follow Chase and his grandfather as they fall in with General George Washington, Colonel Alexander Hamilton, and other important historical figures. Using his knowledge of history, Chase advises them while trying to figure out how to get back home to the present day.

Let’s Write Together

In 2013, Alex Watson and Dr. Robert Watson teamed up with TriMark Press for the first time to create Let’s Write Together, a contest created to call budding writers to action and encourage their imagination and skill. It was a hit. Submissions came in from all over the Palm Beach County and beyond as hundreds of students got together to pen their stories. Chosen by a select panel of judges, the winning short stories were then published in the book Let’s Write Together, Vol I. Let’s Write Together, Vol II, followed the next year.

The contest is now held on a yearly basis with participating schools. To learn more about the contest and review the submission guidelines please visit www.LetsWriteTogether.com.
